Chris - the birthday boy - hiding inside his sweatshirt. Kaity wanted him to smell her finger (or something) but I don't think she knew WHAT finger she was using.

The girls were working on their 3-D cell projects. I felt that they needed oversight from the Honey Badger. He kept an eye out for cobras.

Kaity offered Chris a Peanut Butter Cup, but since he's being really good about sweets these days, he declined. I found it in the fridge with this note: For Dad (when he wants it) :) - Kaity

Back in the Landcruiser for the first time in forever this morning. I forgot that it takes 20 minutes to warm up on a chilly morning such as today. Still, I love the old gal dearly. That's me, freezing, with my bracelet from India that jingles when I drive on the bumpy desert roads, and the shark tooth necklaces the girls made when they were little that touch the back of my hand when I am in third gear, Jack's 'dog tag' (so I don't forget), 'Code 3 Off Road' across the front window from when we had so many great times on the Tillamook State Forest with friends and awesome tunes on the stereo. My hands were cold, but my heart was warm.

The 'wrestling match' last night turned into just a bunch of abject silliness. The girls were, however, very proud to tell Chris today, "Well, Dad, strange things happen when you aren't here."

Sitting in an HR meeting today and these two just kind of strutted by the big glass windows,...."Don't mind us!"

So I saw something on FB where you are supposed to look directly to your left and the first thing you see is the one thing you get to use as a weapon in a Zombie Apocalypse. I guess I'm relying on cold, hard cash.
